Founded on the principles of Conscious Capitalism, we use our mushrooms as a force for good to elevate our customers, community, employees, environment and body. In tangible terms, this means we only grow deeply nourishing strains of mushrooms with research-proven bioactive properties. We pay far higher than even the living wage, and passionately employ, empower and upskill those in our local, rural community. We also delight and inspire the public through exhibitions of our growing mushrooms, gift our deeply nourishing, organic mushroom compost within our community and prevent food waste through our innovative app. We’re proud supporters of the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere too, and offer tours of our farm to underline the beauty of Scotland with the beauty of our produce.
Yet we’re proudest of our curriculum-aligned fungiculture program for nurseries, schools and home-schools. This academic exploration into the biology, natural and social history of mushrooms – which culminates in students growing their own mushrooms – is uniquely innovative and educational. Designed to pique the interest of mushroom growers of the future, it inspire students – whether located in cities or the countryside – to marvel at fungi in the natural world and appreciate the benefits of carefully produced food for the environment, their bodies and our communities.
