Nestled in the rugged wilderness of south-west Scotland, amidst the untamed beauty of nature, Deer Manor® cultivates an exceptional array of gourmet mushrooms with utmost care. As a multi-generational, family-owned agri-business, our dedication to wilderness-farmed, low-tech, sustainable practices is ingrained in our ethos. Renowned for their superior quality, our mushrooms are sought after by acclaimed restaurants, Michelin-starred chefs, and culinary enthusiasts both in the UK and beyond.
Our mushrooms are a culinary treat – and taste exquisite – because of their exceptionally remote growing conditions, our unhurried and patient processes, and the care that comes with being farmed in small, delicious batches. The UK’s finest restaurants, private chefs, nutritionists, farm shops and award juries laud our mushrooms, and we’re proud that our deeply nourishing, beautiful mushrooms are now accessible to foodies and home-cooks throughout the UK and beyond.
Yet we’re more than ‘just’ the nation’s leading wilderness-farmed gourmet mushroom farm. We believe that environmental stewardship and social responsibility go hand-in-hand with growing some of the most delicious – and rare – gourmet mushrooms that the UK has seen. Our output is environmentally respectful, carbon footprint minimal and we’re pleased to be certified Soil Association wilderness-farmed.
We do our best to magnify the social impact of our mushrooms too. You’ll find us at exhibitions, festivals and fairs, delighting with our gourmet mushroom displays. You’ll hear us giving talks about how blended mushrooms – nature’s original flavour enhancer – can effortlessly reduce the need for meat and salt and increase flavour and vitamins. You’ll see us in classrooms too, via our one-of-a-kind mushroom curriculum, inculcating a love of well-produced food and mycology in children. And you’ll even see us working alongside partners in the pharmaceutical industry, who use our mushrooms in their supplements and tinctures. By doing our bit, we aim to be the change we need to see.
